2. Services
The Company provides customs clearance, freight forwarding, warehousing, and related logistics services as agreed between the Company and the Client. All services are provided in accordance with the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Standard Trading Conditions 2021, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference and are available upon request.
3. Client Obligations
The Client agrees to:
- Provide accurate and complete information regarding all goods to be shipped, including descriptions, values, weights, and origins
- Provide all necessary documentation in a timely manner to enable the Company to carry out its services
- Ensure that all goods comply with applicable laws and regulations, including export controls and sanctions
- Notify the Company immediately of any hazardous, restricted, or prohibited goods
- Pay all invoices and charges within the agreed payment terms
- Maintain a valid EORI number for all customs declarations
4. Quotations and Pricing
Quotations provided by the Company are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information provided by the Client and may be subject to revision if the actual shipment details differ materially from those quoted. All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT, customs duties, and government-imposed charges unless explicitly stated otherwise.
5. Payment Terms
Invoices are payable within 14 days of the invoice date unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing. The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. The Company retains a general lien on all goods and documents in its possession for any amounts due from the Client.
6. Liability
The Company's liability for loss of or damage to goods is limited in accordance with BIFA Standard Trading Conditions 2021. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from its services. The Company is not liable for delays, losses, or damages arising from:
- Inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Client
- Force majeure events including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or government actions
- Actions or omissions of third parties including carriers, port authorities, or customs officials
- Inherent defects or characteristics of the goods themselves
7. Insurance
The Company does not automatically insure goods in transit. The Client is responsible for arranging adequate cargo insurance unless the Company has been specifically instructed to do so in writing. The Company can arrange cargo insurance on the Client's behalf upon request.
