Customs clearance and logistics for medicines, medical devices and other healthcare products. We work to MHRA requirements and GDP (Good Distribution Practice), and arrange temperature-controlled transport where the product needs it.
Importing medicines means dealing with the MHRA, GDP rules and, for controlled drugs, the Home Office, as well as HMRC. We handle those requirements alongside the customs declaration.
Our job is to get your medicines, devices and healthcare products to you on time, at the right temperature and with the paperwork to show it. We also manage bilateral clinical supply lines between the UK and global pharmaceutical hubs, including CDSCO-compliant shipments when exporting from the UK to India.
The rules that apply to most pharmaceutical imports, and what we do about each one.
We check that each import meets the MHRA Wholesale Dealer's Licence (WDA) requirements, with the documents and authorisation for the medicinal products in place before they enter the UK.
We follow EU and UK GDP guidelines so medicinal products keep their quality from the manufacturer to the end user.
For controlled substances we manage the Home Office licences and keep the records the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 require, so every movement can be traced.
We support FMD (Falsified Medicines Directive) serialisation checks, which stop counterfeit medicines entering the legitimate supply chain.
How we handle pharmaceutical goods:
Validated cold chain transport at 2-8°C, 15-25°C or any other range you specify, with the temperature monitored and logged throughout.
Secure storage and transport for high-value medicines and controlled substances, with chain-of-custody records.
Pharmaceutical chemicals that count as dangerous goods are handled and documented under ADR and IATA DG rules.
On receipt we inspect the goods, verify the batches and check the packaging before anything goes out for distribution.
Certifications relevant to pharmaceutical shipments:
We took over UK customs clearance and logistics for a pharmaceutical business, which reduced their delays and improved their compliance.
